Homes for Sale in University Place, Dallas, TX
University Park is a Dallas suburb 38 miles east of Downtown Fort Worth and 8 miles north of Downtown Dallas. The neighborhood is in a convenient location to both city centers as well as Love Field, the DFW International airport, and the north Dallas business center. University Park started as a residential neighborhood surrounding the then newly founded Southern Methodist University in 1915, which supported these homes until 1924. Then the community requested annexation into the Town of Highland Park and Dallas; both refused due to the high cost of providing the necessary utility and safety services. Community leaders found ways to incorporate it as a separate city and succeeded on April 12, 1924. The leaders then tried to build and improve the city, which resulted in further growth of the population of University Park.
University Park features a diverse selection of residential real estate including, condominiums, townhouses, loft-style apartments, detached single-family houses. The development of these residences started in the 1930s and continued until today, with some recent construction finishing this year.
